What's New and Release Notes - Q1 2020
Follow Up Action Tags
Support for Follow Up actions has been added to the Observations Manager. This permits any observation to be tagged with one or more tags for the purposes of managing follow up remedial work and similar.
Ports Database
A Ports module is now included in Oceanfile accessible from the main menu. This lists all major ports with oil or gas terminals together with contact details where known and port maps showing live vessels.
Attachments
Support for attachments has been added to many modules including Vessels, Inspections, Observations and Inspectors. Attachments are stored in a secure folder which is specific to each parent entity, ie. attachments for a particular vessel are stored in a folder specific to that vessel.
Attachments may include most common document types including photos, documents and spreadsheets.
Documents
A document and spreadsheet library is now available for storing and editing MS Word and MS Excel compatibile documents. These library areas are private to each Oceanfile account.
Word documents also include Mail Merge support facilitating standard document templates such as Invitation to Inspect a Vessel.
Benchmarking
Oceanfile now includes preview versions of Benchmarking for Inspectors and Ports. This is intended to provide comparison data covering all Oceanfile accounts in a sanitised form.
Similar benchmarking functionality is planned for other modules in due course.
CDI Version 9
We are in the final stage of adding support for CDI Version 9 Chemical inspections. This is expected to be live by 3rd week of Jan 2020.
Speed Improvements
We have continued to roll out various speed improvements across many modules of Oceanfile.
